Vision
Nowadays there are a lot of very anonymous products, completely smooth and hightech.
In my mind concealing the way something is produced and constructed creates a disconnection with the user. Sometimes it can also be very interesting to see the way something is constructed, or works mechanically.
This constructing system is a starting point of a whole family of furniture that I am looking forward
too designing in the coming year(s).

Waste slab of granite upcycled into a table.
In cooperation with Kurt Baumgartner founder of COUNTDOWN-design platform, Lella Valtorta from DILMOS gallery Milan and Kuno Prey founding dean and professor at the Faculty of Design and Arts at the University of Bolzano. Paul has realized this new piece for his steadily growing collection.
The tabletop is the left-over slab from a giant eliptical boulder. These boulders are cut into pieces like a potatoe for the nice and flat slices only..
The outer scales of the cut are usually disregardes as scrap.
Paul wants to upcycle these “scraps” using them as ready made tabletops. By simply connecting four legs constructed out of raw industrial steel which are studded to the rockface A unique table is born every time.
